I can only compare it to what is up for sale and the condition and overall quality of said items for sale. This product can be mounted with all External or Internal blocks. I appreciate the insight although I must say that there is only one posted on the files for cheaper than mine that has the grind marks on the side of the receiver, the finish is beat up, and it is only priced $100 less than mine. They won't be importing anymore Chinese AK's so what's here, is here. I'd hold on to it and sell/trade something else. I would give the files a try but I keep reading about everyone posting up deals they're finding on MAK's and they're a couple hundred cheaper than what you're asking. You've got a fair price set but it seems like most people are going after cheap AR's at the moment because AK prices have risen so much and so quickly. For someone that doesn't care about adding a bayonet and cleaning rod or using Chicom furniture it's an awesome rifle that will provide many years of enjoyment. For what it's worth mine is threaded and it's a BWest import IIRC. As far as the barrel it depends on the importer if it was threaded or not. At this point you're already around the price range of a preban 56S.

After that's said and done you've to either install yourself or pay someone to do it (gas block and front sight).
The front sight post and gas block are very pricey if you can find them and then you need to find an original stock and pistol grip. What really kills it for me is the cost of parts to bring it back to its' former glory. MAK's have risen in price quite a bit over the past couple of years.
